Game Section 1.2 RC5
Today, I released the last Release Candidate of Game Section 1.2, after a far too long development. This last RC includes the whole Tournament System.
Since this code is very new, I hope as much as possible people will let their users test the new system. Especially the round->round system could contain some bugs.

Game Section 1.2 RC4
Today, I released a new version for the Game Section 1.2 branch. This version contains some bugfixes and improvements. The most important changes are the task to start a tournament, and the score system.

Game Section 1.2 RC3.2
Today, I released a new version for the Game Section 1.2 branch. This version contains some bugfixes and improvements. The moest important change is the join system for the tournament system.
This version is a new step in the way to a complete tournament system. In RC4, you'll be able to play the first round of a tournament. After that, RC5 and RC5.1 will follow. When there are no bugreports about RC5.1, the final release will follow.
After 1.2, I'll start immediately with 1.3. This version will contains some litle improvements, a ModCP and support for MyBB 1.6. Although, it's planned like this. It's not meant to take as much time as Game Section 1.2, which will be released about 18 months after the release of MyBB 1.4.

Game Section 1.2 RC3.1
Today, I released a new version for the Game Section 1.2 branch. This is a long waited version with many improvements in the tournament system, which is still unusable, and bug fixes.

Gamesection.org
Since 19th November 2009, the gamesection.org domain is completely accessible, again. The domain was already in my possession since the 16th, and since the 18, it was redirected to the correct place.
So, everything is accessible, again. And, I've made a redirection from community_gamesection.online-urbanus.be to the new address. www.gamesection.org redirects now to w3.gamesection.org. This is needed because gamesection.org is physically the same as online-urbanus.be. So, I can't have the same folder twice ...
But, everything is working again, and I'll try to release RC3.1 this weekend, and to send an e-mail to all the members of the Community Forums to inform about the domain, and the new version.
And immediately, I'll be away for a couple of weeks due to the exams. They end at 15th December, so a couple of days later, "I'm back in business" :P

MediaWiki 1.14.1
Today, I've updated the the site to a more recent version of the MediaWiki software. Since there seems to be a problem with their download-server, I can't immediately install 1.15.1. This upgrade will be done soon!

Game Section 1.2 RC3
Today, I released a big update for the Game Section 1.2 branch. This new version includes a totally new session system, some changes (for example compatibility with IE6), and many bugfixes.

Game Section 1.2 RC2
I just released the second Release Candidate of Game Section 1.2. This release candidate is the full release, but the tournaments system isn't changed since RC1, except one bugfix.
I hope to release an RC3, or the final release on 31/12/2008.

Game Section 1.2 RC1
OK, today, 30th November 2008, the first Release Candidate of Game Section 1.2 is released, some weeks later then planed. The reason is that I thought to have more time to finish the tournaments, but some teachers seems to like giving big testes some weeks before the exams ...
But, he released now containing a first piece of the tournaments system. The tournaments system was for the first asked with the release of Game Section 1.0, and was thought to include in 1.1. I changed mind an planed to make a plugin with this functionality. But, this plugin was never released because of the complexity of a tournaments system. MyBB 1.4 is a big deal for a system like the tournaments system, because of the handy tasks system. That will be the base of the future tournaments system.
But, note as it is unfinished, I recommend to NOT activate it, since it can include some security risks to use a unfinished system.
Further, this release is the first that doesn't include a convert system from the IBProArcade system of MyBB 1.1. Because, there is already a MyBB version between that old system and now. When you are still using the IBProArcade system, You'll have to upgrade first to MyBB 1.2 - Game Section 1.1.9, and afterwards to MyBB 1.4 - Game Section 1.2 RC1.
The Final version is planed to be released before the end of this year. I loved to release it on 24, 24 or 31 December 2008 ... Anyway, the final version will be 4 months after the release of MyBB 1.4

MediaWiki 1.12.0
Yesterday, I got a mail of MediaWiki that the new version of MediaWiki was released, MediaWiki 1.12.0. This was because that there weren't any bugs reported in the RC.
So, today, I upgraded the site to this new version. This compared to a downtime of around 30 minutes.

MediaWiki 1.11.2
On the 3th of this month, I got an e-mail that there was a new version of MediaWiki. I thought that it would taken too much time, so I wanted to do it in the weekend.
But, I forgot that I could upgrade with patch, an UNIX/Linux application, which makes it very simple to patch the whole system in a few minutes. In case of this patch system, there was no downtime.

Game Section 1.1.9
Today, I released Game Section 1.1.9. This contains the changes which makes the Game Section compatible with the configurable admin-directories.
But the most important change is the one of the session system. The last versions, the Game Section ran with the PHP Sessions, but there were some problem with that. The most where fixed, but in some cases, there are still problems.
So the system is changed. Now, there is an own system of sessions. The variables are saved in a field of the MyBB session-table. This must to works in each situation.

Game Section 1.1.8
Last night, I released Game Section 1.1.7, but there was a small bug with PHP. So I released a new bug fix version. But, because the short time between this two versions, I released an upgrade version from 1.1.6, too.

There is a new version of the Game Section, Game Section 1.1.7. This version contains a fix for the session problems and the footer is updated to 2008.

The wiki is upgraded
I just upgraded this site to MediaWiki 1.11.1, which was released some days ago. The upgrade was during a half our, in that time, the site wasn't avallable.

2007 was the year of the Game Section: In the end of 2006, the first Game Section version was released and in March 2007, 1.1 was released.
In 2008, 1.2 will be released. This versions contains large new features and a reviewed code.

The new version is there! It included a fix for the cheat bug, new version control system of 1.2 and updated to new site.
